Terms of use
These terms are between Kodo Yachts LLC, which runs CharterDesk, and the broker’s office that uses it. Everyone that office invites to sign in uses CharterDesk under them too.
What CharterDesk is
A desk for yacht charter brokers: an inbox read from the office’s own mailbox, clients, yachts and charters, a calculator, proposals and itineraries to send, and help from AI when asked. It helps brokers do their work; it doesn’t act for them. Nothing in CharterDesk sends email for a broker, signs a contract, or takes a payment.
Your office’s data stays yours
What an office puts into CharterDesk, and what it reads in from its mail, belongs to that office. We keep it, back it up and work on it only to run that office’s CharterDesk, as the privacy page says. An office can ask for a copy of its data at any time.
An office is responsible for having the right to bring in what it brings in: its clients’ details, its mail, its lists. It is also responsible for what it sends its clients and other brokers.
Signing in and who gets in
An office’s admin decides who signs in, by invitation. Each person signs in with their own passkey, on their own devices; don’t share them. If a phone is lost, the admin can switch that person off at once and send them a new link. Tell us straight away at jordon@kodoyachts.com if you think someone has got in who shouldn’t have.
Check before you rely on it
Drafts, summaries and readings made by AI can be wrong. Calculator figures, VAT rates, fuel and distances are estimates for planning. Itineraries are suggestions, not for navigation; the captain has the final say. Before anything goes to a client, or into a contract, a broker checks it. CharterDesk is not legal, tax or financial advice.
Fair use
Use CharterDesk for your charter business. Don’t use it to send spam, to bring in people’s details you have no right to, to break the law, or to try to get into another office or the server.
If something goes wrong
We work to keep CharterDesk running and back every office up every night, but we can’t promise it will never be down or never lose anything. As far as the law allows, Kodo Yachts isn’t liable for lost business or profits, and our total liability is limited to what the office paid us for CharterDesk in the twelve months before.
Price and ending
What an office pays, if anything, is agreed with Kodo Yachts in writing. Either side can end it with 30 days’ notice. When it ends, the office can have a copy of its data, and then we delete it as the privacy page says.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we tell each office before the change takes effect.
